This documentary will portray an aesthetic view of Tibetan culture. It addresses the distinct and identifiable architectural features of the monasteries and nunneries which are home to monks and nuns living in Tibet and India. Footage of the unique features of these buildings includes some recently built and others that are historically significant, having survived for hundreds of years. A discussion of the significance of recently erected monasteries in India, and the role these buildings play as centers of Tibetan society of India provides another aspect of the Tibetan refugee experience. It also portrays the contrast of the old life with the new, which is part of the journey the people of Tibetan have taken in their refugee experience. The enclosed footage shows a few Tibetan monasteries that have been built in India recently.
