This documentary will focus on the physical, emotional, social, and economic challenges faced by Tibetan refugees who escape from Tibet into India by the tens of thousands every year.  Escaping from religious persecution and the Chinese occupation of their country, Tibetan refugees encounter a difficult journey as one can only enter into India by crossing the Himalayan Mountains where average elevationcan be 12,000 ft. above sea level.

There are primarily two groups of
Tibetans who undertake this journey: one group seeks reunification with
their families already settled in India and the other group is those who
undertake this pilgrimage with the solitary hope they will be blessed by
their spiritual leader, the XIV Dalai Lama.  Video footage documents an event that took place in January 1999 in Dharamsala, India where Tibetan Buddhists were blessed by the Dalai Lama. An AVI clip of the visit is in the download page.
